How to save screen brightness in ubuntu 13.10

When i installed Ubuntu 13.10 , i found that screen bightness couldn’t be saved in every time i open my laptop.

I searched on the web one more time and i found more answers .. this is the simplest way:

  • Check for maximum level of your laptop backlight (0 – 9)

Open your terminal as a root and type:

cat /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/max_brightness

It will output 9 or 8.

  • Open /etc/rc.local which executes the end of each multiuser runlevel

Type on terminal:

sudo gedit /etc/rc.local

Then add this line above ‘exit 0 ‘ line:

echo 0 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness

The 0 value can be changed as the level you want.

  • Restart your Ubuntu
